The
input from the Madrid workshop and the comments we received online have lead
to a new draft document (version 0.35). We invited around 30 people for
the Brussels workshop on 21/22 March. In this workshop we will focus on
the best practices that can be added to the general principles
described in the current version of the draft. In the first workshop
(Amsterdam) we had a brainstorm about possible best practices, now we
will discuss them.

The
second workshop in Madrid on 18-19 january is fully booked. We expect a
new version of the draft document mid february.

A new draft document is published on this site, thanks to the comments we received from editorialboard@cleanITproject.eu
We also received several questions about this project, we therefore added a FAQ at the webpage "about the project".
In reaction to several factual inaccuracies in a blog from the Dutch
Digital Rights Organisation about this project, we published our reaction on this site. (click here fore the
Dutch version).

A
draft document with the results of the first workshop is published
on our website. We are happy to receive almost at a daily base
emails from private sector asking to be on our mailinglist for updates
about the project.

The Clean IT projectleader attended the iFreedom conference
hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands mr.
Uri Rosenthal. The Clean IT project wants to coordinate security issues
as good as possible with the free flow of information on the Internet.

The ministry of Security and Justice from the Netherlands released a news item about Clean IT on their website.

First workshop was held in
Amsterdam with fifteen participants from public and private sector. The
results are now being processed.

The dates for the workshops
are fixed, the first will be 24/25 october in Amsterdam. Information
about the CleanIT project will be available for participants at the
Internet Governance Forum (26-30 september, Kenya).

Mr. Erik Akerboom, the Dutch Coordinator for Counter Terrorism, signed
the Grant Agreement for the project Clean IT. The Grant Agreement is
now returned to the Commission.

A presentation by the projectleader was given for the delegates
from the Terrorist Working Group from the European Commission in
Brussels.
May 31, 2011
A
kick off meeting with the projectpartners was held during the EURODIG
conference in Belgrade
(Serbia) May 31th. On june 1th the Clean IT projectleader highlighted
the goals from this project in the plenary cybersecurity
session from EURODIG.

The Commission officially granted the
projectpartners permission to start the preparations for the project
before the signing of the Grant Agreement.
April, 2011
The Minister of Security and Justice from the Netherlands, mr. Ivo
Opstelten, announced the
start of the Clean IT project at the
Ministerial Cybercrime Conference in Budapest, Hungary.
